According to the latest Spherion® Employment Report, more workers in New York are confident in their overall employment situation - including their ability to head out and find a better job than the one they’re in. However, I’m not sure how that stands up when fewer workers are confident in the actual availability of jobs in the first place.

This was reported back on the 13th March, but, according to iTNews, the New York/New Jersey area has the most job postings in the country, and right now, Windows, Oracle, and C experts are in super high demand.

UBS AG, Europe’s biggest bank by assets, is cutting 23 jobs from its 30-member staff on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange as it uses computers to handle more trading. I guess no-one’s indispensable these days, eh?

The Journal News is reporting that job growth will slow slightly in New York City and the state this year, according to economists for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Why? Because city residents are commuting into the suburbs to fill stronger job demands there.
